Crafting an Event Identity that Celebrates Ethical Fashion in Melbourne

At the heart of this project lay the challenge of designing an event identity that not only reflected the industry’s growth and evolving needs but also paid tribute to the mother brand, Ethical Clothing Australia. The brand identity needed to echo the mother brand while remaining adaptable for various screens and devices. Our task was to create an identity that would inspire and celebrate the industry, with a design that symbolized creativity and the latest industry insights. This challenge set the stage for a unique and engaging design process.

Solution

Our approach was to blend the legacy of Ethical Clothing Australia with the forward-thinking ethos of Ethical Clothing Australia Week.

We used the iconic stitched “e” from the Ethical Clothing Australia logo and combined it with a stacked wordmark, symbolising the industry’s growth. This design was not only visually appealing but also adaptable for various screens and devices. We employed a blue colour palette to reflect the event’s mission of inspiring creative thinking and industry insights. This “Blue skies” thinking served as the foundation for an identity that complemented the mother brand and allowed room for future growth.

The event identity for ECA Week not only met but exceeded the project's objectives.

It became a cornerstone for celebrating the Australian ethical clothing industry, serving as a symbol of its growth and evolution. With its adaptability for digital platforms and its deep connection to the mother brand, the event identity was well-received and made a significant impact.
