Evan Maclean – Architecture Photographer Branding
Striking a Balance: Architecture Photographer Branding for Sydney based Evan Maclean
Brand Identity / Print Collateral / Animation
Evan Maclean a Sydney-based architectural and interiors photographer required a brand identity to captured his natural flair for storytelling.
We were engaged in working with Evan and his team to evolve his brand identity. We wanted to fuse his minimalist approach with his passion for composition. The project included designing a bespoke wordmark inspired by the unique angels and crops known in his architecture photography. We embodied a purity fused with sophisticated lines coupled with purposeful use of negative space when executing the brand collateral. The branding needed to complement his architectural photography without taking away from the hidden details within his photographs.
This wordmark also became the foundation of the motif, animation series, and print collateral utilising sharp angels and unique crop as a storytelling device to complement his architectural and interior photography connection. Evan works with a range of brands and architectural firms, and he prides himself on working with companies that use sustainable practices. With this in mind, we refined his brand palette to consist of deep forest green, cream and dusty mint, which can be seen across his brand stationery, marketing material and his folio.

“…By the time the final drafts were set and delivered, they had created a brand that was exactly what I was hoping to achieve but in a way that I hadn’t expected. That for me is the true hallmark of a creative professional and the team at Storyfolk completely exemplify it.
