Highlighting an eco-friendly hair salon

Cherylle King and the team at Musk Hair Co’s mission has been to combine eco-friendly products and the luxury salon experience to create a space to transform not only clients’ hair but their vision of themselves.

We were approached by creative and environmentally minded hair experts at Musk Hair Co to design their branding and launch them into the Newcastle market. Founder of Musk Hair Co, Cheryelle King, named the salon after her affinity for musk sticks (who doesn’t love musk sticks?) Their floral flavour and aroma, reminiscent of musk perfume, became the foundations of the blush brand identity including complimentary musk sticks for all clients. 

During our Research & Discovery phase for this project, we took a deep dive into the Psychology of Hair and the power of “Good Hair Day”. A study commissioned by Physique and carried out by researchers at Yale University found that “Bad Hair Days” increase levels of both self-doubt and personal criticism. “…Both women and men are negatively affected by the phenomenon of bad hair days,” said Dr Marianne LaFrance, Professor of Psychology and Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies at Yale University. 

It has been great to watch Musk Hair Co from strength-to-strength since opening the salon’s doors in 2019. They have a passionate team and loyal customer base who appreciate their values, ethos and services.
