We’re thrilled to share that Storyfolk has taken home five awards at the 2025 Melbourne Design Awards, three for our work with IND Technology and two for Women with Disabilities Victoria.
To be recognised across categories spanning technology, sustainability, equity, and community impact is something we’re incredibly proud of. These projects represent the diversity of the work we do at Storyfolk — from branding life-saving innovation in the tech sector to co-designing inclusive identities with communities.
IND Technology: Triple Win for Tech, IoT and Sustainability

IND Technology (INDT) is reshaping how we prevent bushfires through its Early Fault Detection (EFD™) system, a breakthrough IoT innovation that identifies electrical faults before they spark catastrophic fires. Despite its extraordinary potential, INDT’s original brand lacked clarity and urgency.
Within a rapid six-week sprint, we reimagined INDT’s brand and digital presence from the ground up, translating a highly technical innovation into a global identity built on precision, prevention, and climate resilience.
The new system wasn’t just about design; it was about making the invisible visible. “Pinpointing” became the design principle, reflected in everything from a dynamic logo system inspired by circuitry and fault signals, to motion graphics that simulate real-time alerts. A refined colour palette reinforced urgency and safety, while accessible typography balanced technical sharpness with human warmth.
This living identity system has elevated INDT from a behind-the-scenes innovator to a trusted authority in public safety and infrastructure resilience. It has supported global expansion into the US and Canada, increased recognition at major industry forums, and played a role in securing multimillion-dollar partnerships.
More than aesthetics, this brand has become a strategic asset, amplifying INDT’s credibility and ensuring its life-saving mission is heard.

Women with Disabilities Victoria: 2 Wins for Equity & Inclusion

We are equally honoured to celebrate a double win alongside Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV). This project wasn’t just about a logo; it was about building a brand led by lived experience, one that reflects identity, amplifies voices, and advocates with strength and care.
At its heart is the ripple motif, holding the initials W, D, and V, a symbol of collective power and systemic change. Every detail, from typography to photography, was shaped with accessibility embedded from the very beginning.
Cass Mackenzie, Storyfolk’s Design Director and Partner, shared:
“When inclusion is embedded from the beginning, not retrofitted later, it transforms not just the outcome but the process. We didn’t set out to make something beautiful; we set out to make something that mattered. And I believe, without a doubt, we have done that.”
The most powerful recognition has been the response from WDV’s own community. Members have shared that they finally feel seen, represented, and proud of the organisation that carries their voice.

A Shared Celebration
These five awards are a testament to the impact that design can have, whether in protecting communities from climate disaster or strengthening equity and inclusion.
To our partners at INDT and WDV: thank you for your vision, your trust, and your commitment to creating meaningful change. These awards belong as much to you as they do to us.
Here’s to designing futures with clarity, courage, and care.
